Welcome to blogging

So.... I've thought about starting a blog for a while now, but wasn't too sure if people really cared what I had to say or not.  But then I thought screw it!  I wanted a way to share some of my creations with my family and friends back in Minnesota (just moved out to Denver so I need to stay in touch some how).


The "theme" of my blog is most things that make me Mildred (the nickname I got for acting 60 years older than I am) quilting, reading, cooking, and some photography thrown in as well.  When I'm not working (just got a new job as a oncology/bone marrow dietitian!!), or spending time with my new husband (just got married in February) I like to turn into Milred and make fun things.


SO HERE WE GO... my first blog!!

This is one of the blocks for a quilt I am making for my cousin's little boy.  I'm loving putting this one together.  It's a Stack the Deck pattern that really has no right or wrong way to put together.  This is a very big change for me since I am normally the "queen of triangles" and need to have every little corner lined up just perfectly (alright so I may have a little OCD).  I've got all the blocks done and am now just working the sashing and boarders.  My goal is to have it done by Thanksgiving for sure.  Fingers crossed!
